2015 was a pretty fantastic year for me!
In January, I resurrected this blog.
In February, I ran my first half marathon (and I liked it so much I did another one a month later).
In March, Devon and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary!
In June, we bought our first house and started a massive renovation project.
In August and September, we traveled to Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Canada.
In November, I did a third half marathon (PR’d at 2:26:07!) then signed up for my first full marathon.
Throughout the year we saw a bunch of mind-blowingly awesome live performances including Weird Al Yankovic (I cannot express in words what an amazing entertainer this man this), Marilyn Manson, Unknown Hinson (my 4th time!), and Life of Agony;
and finally, in mid-December, we moved into our house, which still isn’t completely finished, but at least now we can sleep in our own bed.
Next year is already shaping up to be full of adventures: we’re returning to New Orleans for my marathon, and in May we’re going to Bali, Indonesia! We’re also taking a short cruise to the Bahamas with my parents and my brother to celebrate mom’s 65th and Devon’s 40th birthdays. Our domestic “adventures” include plans to add onto our house: a garage and second floor multipurpose room opening onto a deck that will wrap around to the master bedroom. I’m really excited for what 2016 is going to bring. Life is pretty damn good.
Peace, love, and sweet tea — see y’all in 2016!
